Find local Money Smart workshops and resources on how to buy a home, boost a credit score, save for college, invest, avoid identity theft, and teach kids to save. The TeleTown Hall event on Tuesday, April 25 at 10 a.m. features Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller discussing imposter scams, including the “grandparent” and “IRS” scams. AARP is hosting this timely event since imposter scams have surpassed identity theft as a bigger threat to consumers, according to the Federal Trade Commission. Register here.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago supports Money Smart Week nationally now, and annually works with the Iowa JumpStart Coalition and more than 250 Iowa banks, credit unions, libraries, businesses, nonprofits and government agencies. Our events for the week reach more than 10,000 Iowans annually.
