How Do Most Pay for College?
A survey from Sallie Mae, “How America Pays for College 2009,” shows that a majority of Americans don’t borrow to go to college:
58% did not borrow any money
51% received grants or scholarships
25% took federal loans
12% borrowed from private lenders
5% used credit cards to pay college expenses
